When Women In Tune first came to Uganda, the teachings were difficult to understand because we had never had any woman teach like that but we felt encouraged to start a new path, which has brought a lot of freedom and joy in our hearts. We are forever grateful. WIT paved a way for us to start another breed of women who preach Christ and Him crucified.
Training and Discipleship
Now, we teach the same messages to other women in Uganda and they have the same excitement we had when we first heard them. We combine the Free To Serve Training with Discovering Identity and Purpose, and the Building The Kingdom of God in the nations. The messages about Culture, Fear, Truth About Submission, Redemption of Women, Identity and Purpose, etc, are real challenges to the Ugandan women and we are so happy that God is freeing us to join in the last battle effectively.
Also, the combining of prayer and the Word of God has helped me and others to shift attention from family to community, Church and Nation. Apostle taught us the importance of taking nations for Christ but it took us many years to understand, yet, it’s clear in scriptures. However, the trend of the messages in the Church was actually keeping us in bondage. Churches here emphasise a lot about individual success and we were pursuing it diligently. How we wanted to breakthrough as individuals and families, but, were not considering the Nation and Nations. Now we’re convinced about our corporate responsibility as a church for our Nation.
Prayer Mobilization – QUIVER
By God’s grace we have been meeting every second Saturday of the month to pray as Quiver but also once or twice a month we have been meeting to pray for the Nation and Church. The key scripture has been from Isaiah 62:6-7
“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: you that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, and give him no rest, till he establishes, and till he makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”
It is of great joy and thanks to the Lord for helping us throughout this year in fulfilling the Scripture above.
Starting with Kampala region comprising of five districts and other districts outside Kampala, the number of quiver women has been steadily growing.
- A total of 1,411 women are involved in chain prayers.
As for this year 2016, the Lord enabled us to hold two conferences for the quiver women in which more women were recruited into chain prayers.
Mrs. Christine Lwere who was the main speaker encouraged women to understand Prayer as their individual responsibility, giving the example of Hannah who was married for only 7 years and spent the rest of her widowed life in the temple interceding for the ministry of Jesus.
We will continue with chain prayer and conference in 2017, and will also visit quiver prayer altars in various locations within Kampala and outside Kampala.
