Growing Deeper In Worship (9)

Worship Is A Matter Of The Heart
To be true worshippers of God, we must have a reverential fear of Him. If we fear Him, we would live in obedience to His word, not just with our lips and the things we do, but with our hearts. This would show how much we love Him!
Worship is a matter of the heart. Ultimately, worship is nothing more than an expression of the state of our hearts towards God. This is because from your heart flows all the issues of life. ( Proverbs 4:23 ) What is God’s place in your heart? How much do you love Him?
Your heart is the ‘womb’ of your worship, it is where love for God and the desire to please Him grows. Therefore, the level, degree, depth or sincerity of your worship is nothing more than the state of your heart towards God.
Mark 12:28-34 NLT
“[28] One of the teachers of religious law was standing there listening to the debate. He realized that Jesus had answered well, so he asked, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” [29] Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD. [30] And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ [31] The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” [32] The teacher of religious law replied, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth by saying that there is only one God and no other. [33] And I know it is important to love him with all my heart and all my understanding and all my strength, and to love my neighbor as myself. This is more important than to offer all of the burnt offerings and sacrifices required in the law.” [34] Realizing how much the man understood, Jesus said to him, “You are not far from the Kingdom of God.” And after that, no one dared to ask him any more questions.”
The wise scribe or teacher attested that the truth of worship is that “there is one God, and there is no other but He; to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbour as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
Therefore, worship includes but is more than our sacrifice, tithes, offerings and service. Worship is more than our singing, kneeling and serving, for if we do all of these without love for God in our hearts, our worship is merely religious.
True worship is the state of our hearts towards God – a heart that believes in God, and is devoted to His word and lives in obedience to Him by His Spirit.
John 14:21-23 NKJV
“[21] He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” [22] Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” [23] Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” AMEN!!!

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2026: “BEHOLD JESUS CHRIST”
“When I turned to see who was speaking to me, I saw seven gold lampstands. [13] And standing in the middle of the lampstands was someone like the Son of Man. He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across his chest. [14] His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow. And his eyes were like flames of fire. [15] His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and his voice thundered like mighty ocean waves. [16] He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp two-edged sword came from his mouth. And his face was like the sun in all its brilliance.” [Revelation 1:12-16]
