An Invitation From The Lord To Enter Into His Rest.

As I reflect and prepare to continue with the teachings on Growing Deeper In Worship and Moses’s Tabernacle, I feel an invitation from the Lord to His people. It is an invitation to come away and come into His intimate rest.

Matthew 11:28-30 NLT
“[28] Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.””

The Christian walk is not meant to be a burden. Our walk with the Lord is not meant to weigh us down and over-burden us. We are not to grow weary, tired and exhausted; rather we are to live by all-sufficient His grace and in His strength.

Unfortunately, many of us are burdened and laden – with guilt and shame, sorrow and sighing, fear and insecurity, sickness and infirmity, depression and oppression of all sorts! Many of us are struggling with worshipping and serving God – struggling to pray and read the bible, struggling with doubt and unbelief, struggling to have faith and trust God. Many are struggling with life itself – with daily provision for food, clothing and shelter, struggling with marriage and family, with the loss of loved ones or jobs. Many have come to the end of themselves and simply do not know what next would hit them or what steps to take next!

YES! IT IS TO YOU THAT JESUS MAKES THIS INVITATION INTO REST…

Song of Songs 2:10-14 NKJV
“[10] My beloved spoke, and said to me: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. [11] For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. [12] The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. [13] The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grapes give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away! [14] “O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.””

We must endeavour to respond to this invitation by turning our eyes and hearts afresh to Jesus Christ. We must believe and receive His love, comfort, strength and grace.

Therefore, make time today, and each day, to step away from everything and get into your bedroom, bathroom, toilet, closet, car or garden (wherever you can be alone), and just talk to Jesus – talk honestly, openly and candidly! Ask for the comfort and refreshing of the Holy Spirit and Word, and the grace to enter into His rest. Weep, if you want to, but be determined to receive from Jesus; to receive His love and grace.

He shall surely hear you and answer, because He’s already there, waiting for you to come to Him; He is ready to embrace you, comfort and console you and refreshen and strengthen you. Remember, the invitation is from Him! All you have to do is to RESPOND and RECEIVE!

Isaiah 30:18-19 NLT
“[18] So the LORD must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help. [19] O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will be gracious if you ask for help. He will surely respond to the sound of your cries.”

As I reflect on what Jesus was saying to us today, this song, “Come Away With Me,” by Isabella, rings in my heart. I’ve played it a couple of times and thought I would share it with you. Click on the link below to listen to it. I hope it blesses you.

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2026: “BEHOLD JESUS CHRIST”

“When I turned to see who was speaking to me, I saw seven gold lampstands. [13] And standing in the middle of the lampstands was someone like the Son of Man. He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across his chest. [14] His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow. And his eyes were like flames of fire. [15] His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and his voice thundered like mighty ocean waves. [16] He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp two-edged sword came from his mouth. And his face was like the sun in all its brilliance.” [Revelation 1:12-16]
