21 DAYS OF PRESSING TOWARDS THE GOAL (3)

DAY 3: Pressing On In Sanctification

A few weeks ago, feeling quite overwhelmed, I turned to the Rock that is higher than I for comfort (Psalm 61:2). Three words immediately dropped into my spirit, “disconnected, disengaged, distracted.” I asked the Father for the grace to discern which of these adjectives best described my current state of mind and interaction with the things of the Spirit.

Sometimes it seems we are disconnected with the Holy Spirit, sometimes we are disengaged, and often we simply distracted. This is why we must press on in sanctification, asking for the Father to continue to deal with our weaknesses and strengthen us within.

Today’s Key Scriptures: Hebrews 12:1-17; Psalm 15; Galatians 5:16-21; Psalm 103:8-14

PRAYER POINTS:

Hebrews 12:1 NLT
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

1. Praise and thank God for His abundant grace and faithfulness towards you. Declare that He is holy, righteous and worthy to be praised and worshipped.

2. Ask the Father to continue His work of cleansing and sanctification in you, through the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit.

3. Ask the Father to help you identify the particular sin or weakness that trips and hinders you. Pray that the Holy Spirit would deal with any deep-rooted personal weaknesses and issues like hurts, pain, self-pity, selfishness, fear, anxiety, insecurity, etc.

4. Repent and ask the Father to cleanse you from the works of the flesh, including, unforgiveness, offence, resentment, bitterness, anger, envy, jealousy, drunkenness, fornication, lying, gossiping, etc. Ask Him to also help you deal with presumptuous sins, including doubt, unbelief and faithlessness.

5. Pray that every yoke would be broken off your life and that you will be set free from every bondage. Ask the Father to remove every weight, obstacle and hindrance to His presence and power in your life.

6. Pray and ask the Father to help you set your heart right. Ask Him to restore you; to cause you to experience His love and fill you with His joy and peace in Jesus Christ.

CONFESSION AND DECLARATION:

God our Father, is compassionate and merciful, slow to anger and filled with unfailing love. He does not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins or deal harshly with us, as we deserve. His unfailing love toward those of us who fear Him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. Just because He knows how weak we are, and remembers that we are only dust. Indeed, He is a perfect Father to all His children; tender and compassionate to those who fear Him.

Knowing all this about God our Father – how good, kind, gracious and loving He is – does not give me the right to do whatever I please. Rather, it motivates me to endeavour do my best to obey His word and bring pleasure to Him. I will do my best to love and worship the Lord, and honour and obey Him. I will endeavour to always live and do what is right, and demonstrate it by living in harmony with others.

Thank You dear Father that I do not have to do all of this in my own strength, but by Your grace. I believe that with the help of the Holy Spirit, I will be able to live a life that honours and pleases You, our Father. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2026: “BEHOLD JESUS CHRIST”

“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. [Revelation 19:11-16]
