Approved Workers (2)
2 Timothy 2:15 ESV
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
We are looking at the benefits and impact that reading and studying the scriptures has on us, and how it prepares us for God’s approval.
2. IT HELP BUILDS US UP IN FAITH
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”
* We need faith to walk with God in a manner that pleases Him. In fact, our entire Christian walk is one of faith – faith in the God we do not see, but we believe exists, and came down to earth and gave His life for our salvation. Faith that He rose from the dead and He lives, and we can have a relationship with Him as our Father.
Romans 10:17 NKJV
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Job 42:5 NKJV
“I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You.”
* Our faith, however, is built on the Word of God. As we grow in our knowledge of God’s word, and we learn more about Him and believe in Him (who He is and what He can do), our faith in God grows stronger and stronger.
Hebrews 11:1-2 NKJV
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval.”
* To be approved workers, therefore, we must believe and develop the conviction that God exists and is real and is with us. We must have the assurance that Jesus Christ is everything His word tells us about Him.
* We must also have faith in God’s word and promises to us… that He is with us, that He will never leave nor forsake us, that He is our provider, sustainer and protector, that He is our Saviour and deliverer, that He is our healer, that He is faithful and will fulfil all His promises to us, including, eternal life!
* It is the word of God that builds up faith in us; it is our assurance and evidence of all God’s promises. Therefore, reading and studying the Word gives us a growing belief and confident assurance of God.
* Our faith in God is also a shield of defence against the enemy ( Ephesians 6:16 ). The shield of faith acts as a buffer against the attacks of the enemy, especially temptations, fear, doubt, discouragement and unbelief, which we constantly struggle with. It also helps us overcome the flesh, the world and Satan. An active faith gives us the boldness to stand up to the devil and resist him!
James 4:7 TPT
“So then, surrender to God. Stand up to the devil and resist him and he will turn and run away from you.”
As we commit to diligently reading and studying the word of God, our faith in God increases and causes us to stand and overcome. Every approved worker is an overcomer.
1 John 5:4 TPT
“You see, every child of God overcomes the world, for our faith is the victorious power that triumphs over the world.” AMEN!

Fulfilling Our Theme For 2026: “BEHOLD JESUS CHRIST”
“When I turned to see who was speaking to me, I saw seven gold lampstands. [13] And standing in the middle of the lampstands was someone like the Son of Man. He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across his chest. [14] His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow. And his eyes were like flames of fire. [15] His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and his voice thundered like mighty ocean waves. [16] He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp two-edged sword came from his mouth. And his face was like the sun in all its brilliance.” [Revelation 1:12-16]
